Must Buy Monday

Posted on April 14th, 2008 in CVS, How To, Money Maker, Must Buy Monday, RiteAid, Rx Hopping, Walgreens by sharon

I sat down this morning with all the sales fliers to determine my shopping plan for this week. As usual, most of the drugstores have the same items on sale so it’s a matter of price shopping to get the best deals.

For example:

Rite Aid Lysol Wipes are 2 for $5, then you get a Single Rebate Check (SRC) for $1. Your effective prices before coupons is 2 for $4. Not bad but I kept looking.

Walgreens has Lysol Wipes in a twin-pack for $3.49. Even better!

Then I took a closer look. The twin-pack wipes were 70 count each. The Rite Aid sale wipes were 35-40 count! Definitely a much better deal at Walgreens.

Go to The Coupon Clippers and search on Lysol to purchase a $1/2 q for Lysol Wipes.

Secret Deodorant
Secret deodorant is on sale $4/2 after SRC at Rite Aid. I have $2qs for Secret Clinical Strength. If the Secret Clinical Strength is included in the sale, these will be free. If not, I have $.50 qs for any Secret for an effective price of $1.50 each.

Here’s the list of items I’ll be restocking this week:

Rite Aid

(1) Aquafresh Extreme Clean: $2.49 - $2.49SRC = FREE *Use a q for overage (limit 1 SRC)
(2) Secret Deoderant: 2 for $5 - $1SRC = $2 each (use q’s for $2 or $.50 off each) (limit 1 SRC)
(1) GasX: $4.99 - $1SRC - $1q = $2.99 ea (limit 1 SRC)

CVS

(2) GasX : $4.99 - $1q = $3.99 **Purchase 2 and get $10 ECB

Walgreens

Milk - Need to check the prices. The sales flier only said “Great Low Price”.
(2) Lysol Twin Packs - $3.49 per pack - $1/2 = $2.49 or $1.29 each

Items of Note:

  • There are $1 and $1.50 GasX qs out there. Use the $1.50 for better savings
  • Go to The Coupon Clippers to purchase any of the qs you need to make these deals.

Rx Hopping

Posted on April 11th, 2008 in How To, Rx Hopping by sharon

Prescription hopping is transferring your prescriptions from one pharmacy to another when the new pharmacy is offering a gift card incentive. Take your empty or almost empty prescription bottle to the new pharmacy along with your coupon. The pharmacist will call the previous pharmacy to get authorization and move all the info to the new store. It’s that simple!

RiteAid has been offering quite a few coupons lately with an incentive of an additional $5 per refill for the next two refills.

ALWAY read the fine print! RiteAid’s current coupon is not valid if you have transferred within the past six months.

Tip: CVS will often take a RiteAid xfer q. Some stores will even give you $5 more than the RiteAid offer.
